The Canny Man's
Described by Rick Stein as “the best pub in the world”, The Canny Man’s is an Edinburgh institution, run by the same family since it opened its doors in 1871, this is a truly independent pub that does things exactly the way it believes a pub should do it, from one of the most extensive whisky selections to its now famous bloody mary. The Canny Man’s is a must when in the area. You may even find the Kiltane family enjoying a Guinness here too!

Bennets of Morningside

The Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill
A beautiful nature reserve offering stunning views over the city. The walking trails wind through woodlands, past a historic house, and up to Blackford Hill, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Edinburgh’s skyline.
Braidburn Valley Park
A peaceful spot for picnics, walking, and spotting local wildlife. This well-maintained park follows the course of the Braid Burn, with plenty of open space, wildflower meadows, and benches where you can relax and take in the surroundings.
Craighouse Hill
A lesser-known viewpoint that offers fantastic panoramic sights of Edinburgh. A quiet and serene location, this area is home to historic buildings that once housed a psychiatric hospital. Perfect for those looking to escape the city without venturing too far.
